What is IncoStress?
IncoStress is a medical device used to control the involuntary loss of urine in urinary stress incontinence.

What is it made from?
It is made from a medical grade silicone.

Is silicone dangerous?
Not at all, silicone is an inert material, which is used in most medical applications.

How long does one last?
IncoStress may be used for up to 6 months after the package is initially opened.

Will I need to use a pad also?
This depends on the severity of the incontinence and the strength of the pelvic muscles. Some women may need to use pads as a security whilst the muscles are being strengthened.

Can it stay in place whilst using the washroom?
In the beginning we recommend you remove IncoStress every time you use the washroom, wash it and replace. This depends on the strength of the pelvic muscles, the stronger the muscles are the more likely it is that you may use the toilet and keep the IncoStress in the vagina.

Can I get TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome) using IncoStress?
We recommend that the IncoStress not be used for more than 8 hrs continuously. After 8 hours IncoStress should be removed, washed, and inspected for any erosion of the product. Leave out of the body for a minimum of an hour before replacing. TSS has been linked to high absorbency and prolonged use of tampons. IncoStress is different in the way that it is not absorbent. The silicone used does not allow the growth of bacteria in the way that materials in tampons do. Symptoms of TSS could include sudden high fever, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, fainting, or a rash rather like sunburn. If you experience any of these symptoms remove IncoStress and contact your doctor immediately.

How do I take care of IncoStress in public washrooms?
Take a small bottle of water into the toilet and rinse. Wiping with intimate non-perfumed wipes is also acceptable or wiping with tissue paper. Once you reach home you can clean it more thoroughly.

Do I need to use a lubricant?
This depends on the amount of natural body lubricant your body produces. Some women find inserting IncoStress whilst in the bath easy without any lubricant. If you do need lubricant be sure only to use a water-based. Oil based lubricants will damage the silicone.

Can I recycle it?
No.

Where is IncoStress produced?
IncoStress is produced in the UK under a very strict controlled quality assurance processes.

Can I use IncoStress during my monthly menstruation?

I had a baby recently and have incontinence - is IncoStress safe to use?
We recommend you use IncoStress about six weeks after giving birth, you must ensure that stitches are healed and there is no infection before use. Please consult your nurse or health practitioner for advice on this.

I have an STD (sexually transmitted disease) can I use IncoStress?
No, you may not use IncoStress if you have any sort of infection or disease.

I have a urine infection can I use IncoStress?

Yes, you can boil it but washing under clean water should be sufficient.

How far in the vagina should IncoStress go?
It needs to go above the first pelvic muscle. Push it up as far as it will go, some women find that they are comfortable inserting the retracting tail inside the vagina.

Will the IncoStress get 'lost' inside my body?
No, don't be afraid to push it high up, the only place it can go is back out.

What is the tail for?
The tail is there simply to retract it from the body. It is safe to place completely inside the vagina.

Can I use IncoStress if I have urge incontinence?
IncoStress is designed ONLY for stress incontinence. You may find that you have urge and stress incontinence at the same time. IncoStress will help with the stress incontinence but not the urge incontinence.

My IncoStress slips out - is this normal?
There could be two reasons why IncoStress slips out. The pelvic muscles are not quite strong enough to keep the IncoStress in place, do not give up keep persevering with it. Over time the muscles should become strong enough to hold it in place. There could be another medical condition contributing to the rejection, such as a prolapse. We recommend you contact your doctor to find out the reason.

What do I do if it keeps slipping out?
Try wearing it for 10 minutes in the morning and 10 in the evening for a week then increase by 5 minutes every week until you are comfortable with it.

Can I wear IncoStress whilst sleeping?
Yes, it is perfectly safe to wear during sleep.

I saw blood on the IncoStress on removal and I have passed menopause, is this normal?
If you have passed menopause, it is not uncommon for this to happen, due to the lack of hormones, which can cause thinning and dryness of the vaginal lining.

Should I stop using IncoStress if this happens?
There is no need to stop using IncoStress if you see a bit of blood upon removal - and you have passed menopause. Contact your doctor, and they may prescribe a hormone gel, medication or patch to apply to decrease the vaginal dryness.

Does IncoStress come in different sizes?
Not for the moment, the majority of women are satisfied with the size at present on the market. As this is a completely new innovation only time and customer feedback will determine if we need to make another size.

Can I use it as a pelvic exerciser?
It is primarily designed to control stress incontinence, you can carry out pelvic exercises with IncoStress in place, over time is may help the muscles but it is not a pelvic exerciser, and is not a quick fix to strengthen your muscles. You must work with IncoStress to make your muscles work, by squeezing and drawing up your muscles. Over time this could become automatic, where you won't even need to think about it.

I have a prolapse of the urethra (an urethrocele), will IncoStress help?
IncoStress is designed to close and support the urethra from the vagina, there is no clinical evidence that it can or cannot help. IncoStress is primarily used to control stress incontinence.

Can I use IncoSilk on the IncoStress?
No, IncoSilk is to be used externally only.

Can I use IncoStress if I have an Intra-Uterine Device (coil) fitted?
